Talk of the town

Networking eventMore than 30 nonprofit professionals gathered Sept. 17 for Talk of the Town's inaugural “Make it a Date” networking event.
Participants talked one-on-one with other professionals using a fast-paced speed networking format.

This was the first event in the new “Talk of the Town” initiative sponsored by the Women's Fund of Greater Omaha. Talk of the Town is a follow-up to focus groups where participants asked for opportunities to network with other nonprofit professionals.

The second event, held Dec. 3, 2009, featured networking groups.

Talk of the Town events, which will be held quarterly, will provide forums for program directors from nonprofit agencies serving women to learn about community services, collaborate with their colleagues and network.

Talk of the Town steering committee members are:

  • Dinah Gomez - Domestic Violence Coordinating Council
  • Tahnee Markussen - Consumer Credit Counseling Service
  • Kimberly Green Thomas - Lutheran Family Services
  • Cathy Wyatt - Midwest Geriatrics
