The Women’s Fund of Omaha is excited to announce that Lisa Ling will be the featured keynote speaker at our annual Lead the Change celebration held at the CenturyLink Center on October 20.
Lisa Ling is an award-winning journalist, executive producer, television presenter, and is the current host of This Is Life on CNN. Her impressive resume includes being a co-host on ABC Daytime’s hit show The View, executive producer and host of Our America on OWN: the Oprah Winfrey Network, former field correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show, contributor to ABC News’ Nightline and National Geographic’s Explorer. She is the co-author of Mother, Daughter, Sister, Bride: Rituals of Womanhood and Somewhere Inside: One Sister’s Captivity in North Korea and the Other’s Fight to Bring Her Home, which she penned with her sister, Laura. She is a co-founder of Secret Society of Women and a contributor to iVolunteer. Lisa is an incredible advocate for women and girls and has used her work to give a voice to issues that are too often ignored.
At the annual Lead the Change event, the Women’s Fund will be awarding $250,000 in grants to local nonprofit agencies for programs that are making a positive impact on the lives of Omaha-area women and girls. Attendees will vote to determine which of three local nonprofit agencies receives this year’s $10,000 Be the Change Grant. Honorary co-chairs for the luncheon are Aileen Warren, assistant vice chancellor for business and finance and director of human resources for UNMC, and Jane Miller, chief operating officer and executive vice president for Gallup. The Women’s Fund Lead the Change event has a projected attendance of 1,500 people of all genders.
