Women’s Fund Employee Spotlight: Angie Balsarini

Meet Angie, our Grants Program Manager at the Women’s Fund. With more than 20 years of experience building community connections and strengthening organizations, Angie brings an intersectional feminist lens to everything she does. Her journey—from managing a reproductive health clinic in Alaska to cultivating community through film in Omaha—has led her right here, where her values and vision align with our mission.

Outside of work, you might find Angie deep in a good book at her anti-fascist book club, putzing in her garden or off on an adventure with her beloved dog and “life pawtner,” Frances.

We’re thrilled to have her on the team—and can’t wait for you to get to know her too!

What’s your favorite part of working at the Women’s Fund so far?

Having so many brilliant, creative and kind women as coworkers!

Describe the Women’s Fund in three words?

Integrity. Courage. Resilience.

Best thing about living/working in Omaha?

I’m from Omaha so I have the benefit of longtime friends, living near family, and being part of solid and supportive communities.

When you’re not working, what’s your favorite thing to do?

Long walks and hikes with my dog.

What’s one goal you hope to accomplish in the next year?

Build relationships with my new coworkers and Women’s Fund partners.

What’s the most interesting or unusual job you’ve ever done?

At Half Price Books, I worked shifts at the buy counter, where we bought books and more from the public. It was always full of surprises – sometimes terrifying and sometimes delightful!

What are you listening to these days?

Really excited to hear my new coworker’s band, HAIR PERSON, when they finish recording their new album!

If Hollywood made a movie about you, who would you like to see cast as you?

I’ve always loved Janeane Garafolo.
