Announcement from the Women’s Fund

The Board of Directors and staff of the Women’s Fund would like to extend our appreciation for your continued support and all your contributions to our mission to improve the lives of all women and girls.

Today, we are announcing that Michelle Zych, Executive Director of the Women’s Fund, will be stepping down at the end of the year to join The Sherwood Foundation.

Michelle has served as Executive Director since 2012. During her tenure, the Women’s Fund has:

  • Increased the total budget from $430,000 to more than $15 million with more than $10.5 million in grant funding to partner organizations.
  • Established itself as a statewide leader in advocacy, domestic violence, sex trafficking, and access to sexual and reproductive health care and education.
  • Shifted investment strategy to incorporate a gender lens approach to align our endowment with organizational values.

We are extremely proud of what the Women’s Fund has achieved under her leadership. Standing on the shoulders of those who came before, Michelle was able to recruit a dynamic team that is committed to advancing our essential missions, and is leaving the organization in a strong position from which to continue this important work.

The Board of Directors has formed a transition committee and will be starting a transition and search process over the next month with Erin McArthur serving as acting executive director beginning January 1 until the position is filled. In the meantime, we hope you will reach out to Michelle to share your thoughts and appreciation for her many contributions to the Women’s Fund success.

Sincerely,

Aileen Warren
