Meet Cassie Neal, our new Freedom From Violence Project Manager at the Women’s Fund! Before joining our team, Cassie spent five years in higher education, where they developed a strong commitment to advancing gender equity. As a first-generation college student, Cassie has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in criminology & criminal justice and political science, along with a master’s in educational administration from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Outside of work, Cassie enjoys reading, catching live music, watching reality TV and spending time with friends and their cats. We asked Cassie a few questions about their journey so far and what brings them joy beyond the office.

Bright, nurturing and passionate.
Best thing about living/working in Omaha?
That there’s always something new to try or explore in Omaha!
When you’re not working, what’s your favorite thing to do?
Trying new food in Omaha and spoiling my cats!
What’s one goal you hope to accomplish in the next year?
Develop meaningful relationships with grantees and collaborators.
What’s the most interesting or unusual job you’ve ever done?
I used to volunteer at a hospital and confirmed with families what name would go on a baby’s birth certificate. After hearing too many stories of names misspelled on birth certificates, I quadruple checked spelling.
