30 Days of Action – Action 28

ACTION TWENTY-EIGHT

Support Local Food Assistance

During the pandemic, issues impacting women and girls have been compounded. This is true for food insecurity and the need for resources in our community has been at an all-time high during the pandemic. YES Omaha is one location currently in need of boxed meals (hamburger helper, spaghetti, etc.), bread and cereal for their mobile pantry. Other nonprofits providing food assistance, like Together and No More Empty Pots, accept financial donations to efficiently meet the needs of those in our community.

YOUR ACTIONS

Give non-perishable items to YES Omaha in advance of the winter months or donate financially to Together or No More Empty Pots to help improve food insecurity.

Contact the Governor and ask that he maximize federal food assistance during the pandemic and support legislative efforts to expand eligibility for such programs in the next session.
